"This food tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. I can not say enough good things about Maria and Bruno. They were extremely knowledgeable, as well as, a pure pleasure to spend time with. They took us to places and exposed us to foods we could never have done on our own. They gave not only an amazing food tour, but a mini historic tour of Porto due to their deep understanding of the history. They respected our dietary restrictions when choosing the places to tour. Both my husband and I felt like we were spending the day with dear friends. If you are in Porto do NOT miss the opportunity to take a food tour with them."

"BEWARE!!! Maria and Bruno only offer a tour giving you a rare glimpse into the real culture and life of locals. If you are enjoy being led around like sheep(tourists) to places where you see other sheep(tourists), this is not for you. Let them push you a bit into trying(pig ears, aguardiente), going(local taverns), understanding(Portuguese cultures, values) a little more than you've experienced/understood before. They tailor their tours according to your preferences in order to make sure you get what you want. My only requirements to them were "places the everyday locals go to(the smaller the better) and not wanting to see any tourists." they over delivered for us. A group of 15 of us and we all felt it was like a 1:1 tour as they made sure to try and speak to all of us individually and not treat us like a herd of animals. HONEST AND PASSIONATE PEOPLE DOING GREAT THINGS."

"We spent the morning on the Sweets Tour with Maria and Bruno. They are a delightful Portuguese couple who are extremely knowledgable and enthusiastic about the local food scene. We were astonished by the vast array of beautifully prepared and tasty baked treats in Porto, and we hardly scratched the surface. We have been on many food tours around the world, from New York to Tblisi. This was, by far, the best. Highly, highly recommended. Wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring your curiosity and sweet tooth."

"We enjoyed our first evening's tour so much, we asked if Maria and Bruno could tour us the next day, too. My wife and I had two great experiences with Maria and Bruno in Porto. The first evening we toured the city, sampling different foods and some wine while visiting the public market, as well as some local restaurants and cafes. At each stop it felt as though they were expecting us and in some cases they were. The warmth of the people paired with Maria and Bruno's knowledge of the city, its history and the culinary arts is incredible. They are both native to Porto and their feelings so rightfully run deep for this absolutely intriguing place. They were more than generous with their time while showing us around in an unhurried and personal fashion.

The next day we walked all over the central area of the city and listened in fascination as they described in wonderful detail the history of Porto. They are connoisseurs of travel and of cuisine with a true passion for their home. We had a delicious lunch with them the second day talking incessantly, as if we were all olds friends connecting to catch up and enjoy a classic Porto meal together. Maria and Bruno made our trip so very special and introduced us to a beautiful city and culture we hadn't experienced before. We highly recommend them and are so happy to know them."

" Taking this food tour in Porto was like hanging out with two old friends that happen to know a bottomless amount of information about the local food culture and history. Maria and Bruno chatted with us easily as we walked from place to place pointing out different items of interest as well as culinary masterpieces. The depth of knowledge they have about the local history of Porto and of Portugal as a whole, brought a whole new depth to the tour that, I felt, was unique to this experience. The food and drink pairings were fabulous and brought an enlightened mindset to the ways cultures develop traditions that I had never experienced. If I ever return to Porto I would, without hesitation, go on a tour with them again. "

Off the beaten track small family owned restaurants and nooks and crannies where wonderful local food has been prepared for generations...what a delight!! Everything from pork sandwiches to cachorinhos (hot dogs) and pastries...a wonderful morning to wet your palate and experience local culture, people and food!!"

"Great food tour in Porto. Maria & Bruno were great hosts and tailored the tour to our requests, and had great knowledge about the city and it's history and food. We had a big group, but it wasn't an issue as they had relationships with all of the places we went. If you want to try some food you wouldn't have had otherwise, call Maria & Bruno, they are great."

"We had a wonderful time with Maria and Bruno today, guiding us on a most enjoyable food and history tour of Porto. "The first evening in Porto we went on a food tour with Maria and Bruno. It was the highlight of our visit to the city. We got to eat at the places the locals do. We also got a great education about the foods of Porto. Maria and Bruno are warm, funny and very into explaining the food customs of the city. We usually look to eat at the best restaurants the guide books tell us to go to. Throw out your books, and have a great day or evening with two food lovers."

"My two cousins and I took the food tour with Maria and Bruno and it was definitely the highlight of our 10-day trip around Portugal. We walked around the city eating delicious food (everything we had was amazing) and learned so much about the typical foods the people of Porto eat. I loved that it didn't feel like we were doing some type of tourist activity and we were getting a legit run down of the city by locals. Maria and Bruno were also so much fun to be around! Put on a good pair of walking shoes and book it!"
